Enchantment Removal in Modern for Rakdos
Deck Help forum

I know there is limited to no enchantment removal in Rakdos, but are there any alternatives? I know of hand destruction and I already run a playset of Duress in my main board and Slaughter Games in my side board. But I feel that Im missing some artifact or black permanent destruction. Anyone got anything? Thanks a bunch~

That is why I said black or artifact permanent removal. And is Oblivion Stone modern legal? The pic link tappedout shows has a commander symbol on it. Though it seems Ratchet Bomb is going to be my best bet. Thanks for the other options as well, stealing enchantments might be good a sideboard. And I am more so looking for controlled permanent destruction, not just board wipes or random chance permanent destruction.

I don't know if it'll fit in your deck, but I've always liked Liquimetal Coating and artifact removal.

Wow. Good find MrLizard. It is good to know that exists. I have Rakdos Charm for artifact removal, though I dont think Liquimetal Coating is fast enough for just four artifact removal. Still, wow, super curious about using it now in another deck.

It was the focal point in a kitchen table deck I had, that I'd play if someone was playing too much removal to be a fun night. It was liquimetal coating and all artifact removal. It usually took only a couple games to make my point lol.

Those are the two colors in the game that literally cannot deal with enchantments, period. Your best direct options are to look for artifacts that can help you, meaning things like Oblivion Stone or Ratchet Bomb on the lower end of the curve and Spine of Ish Sah or Karn Liberated on the high end. In Black and Red, you have to use cards that attack the problem from an oblique angle and might not work in your deck (or are just plain bad cards), such as Descent into Madness , Phyrexian Obliterator , Undercity Plague , Akki Underminer , Crack the Earth , or Tyrant of Discord .
I suppose Red does have a few options in Word of Seizing , Zealous Conscripts , and Dominus of Fealty , if it's the kind of enchantment where stealing it for a turn would give you an opportunity to make another move. But yeah, you're either going to have to give up on the idea of enchantment removal, add some artifact-based removal, or find a way to let your deck add some cards from either Green or White.
