For starters, I've linked to DeckBox because thats the first website I found before being referred to this one.

Well, I haven't played this game since I was 9, and although its slowly coming back to me, I was never competitive enough to really ever build a deck. I've recently met some new people that are into MTG, and I'd like to participate in games with them. Nothing too serious, we'll work our way up to that. That said, my local store had a good sale I couldn't pass up on a Intro Deck, so I went with GTC Boro's Battalion. Here is the standard deck unaltered: http://deckbox.org/sets/371258

I also picked up a booster battle pack, of which (I feel) these cards can be effectively applied to my pre-made: http://deckbox.org/sets/371265

So for starters, I'd like to make a decent R/W deck from what I've got there. I'm not too sure of what cards should be swapped out for better ones, and still keep decent mana curve balance. Obviously I'd like to get cards such as Aurelia into the deck, but not sure what to remove to keep it balanced.

Onto my next deck, the B/W. I want to build this because I pulled a Obzedat Ghost Council from one of the boosters, and I'd like to put the card to good use. Someone suggested I build a R/B/W deck, but I don't feel I have enough mana sources to sustain this yet. This is my partial build: http://deckbox.org/sets/371282

I'm assuming I'll have to lend some W cards from the Boro's deck, just not sure which exactly would work well together. Any input is appreciated.

Forgot to add, this is my complete card library incase there's anything I have and didn't include that someone might find useful for my needs: http://deckbox.org/sets/371245

It depends on how you want to go with your Boros deck. You can go Humans style with Champion of the Parish , Precinct Captain , Elite Inquisitor and many others or you can go massive aggro with Vexing Devil , Boros Reckoner (he should be in any Boros deck period IMO) Mizzium Mortars Searing Spear Bonfire of the Damned , Legion Loyalist , Stromkirk Noble

You'll want dual lands: Sacred Foundry , Clifftop Retreat , and utility land Slayers' Stronghold If you go humans Cavern of Souls

Thank you for the advice, however I'm more looking to build with the cards I have currently, and will look into purchasing individual cards as time goes on. I wish to casually play with friends this week and would like to have a decent deck to start with.

Creating a decklist on Tappedout to quick link to will make it easier for people to see your deck/comment on it, and to get running feedback/discussion going with folks on the site.

I'd say that given the resources you have, your builds are looking pretty good so far. They're spread a little thin over a bunch of different cards, but that can't really be helped. The Boros build in particular I like; looks very fast.

This article is a very good read for the beginning deckbuilder http://www.wizards.com/magic/magazine/article.aspx?x=mtg/daily/rc/188

3 - Thank you very much, I'll transfer them over to tappedout. As for the Boro's deck, its just the intro deck, I haven't done anything to it yet. What I am looking for is to see which cards from the "Additional Boros" list I should transfer to my main deck.

4 - Thanks for the link, I'll give it a read.
