This is the first EDH deck I've made, for the casual tournament my friends and I are doing. Would love some feedback, and would like to be at least slightly competitive

deck-large: Artifactually Brilliant

Dumb question: whats EDH?

EDH stands for Elder Dragon Highlander which was the original name for Commander. It's called that because of the Nicol Bolas cycle and because the can be only ONE!!

Its a format where you start with 40 life, can only have 1 of any card besides basic land, and have 100 cards including the commander. Your commander is a legendary creature that you use as the basis for your deck. Your deck can only have cards of your commanders color identity. You can cast your commander any time he could normally be cast, but he is in a separate place than your deck, and cannot be harmed until he is on the field, so its kinda like he is an exiled card that you can cast from exile. Whenever it dies, it goes back to the command zone, as i call it, and can be cast again, but every time it dies you have to pay 2 more to cast it. if you deal 20 commander damage, or damage with your commander, you win the game by that way, or you can win by the other normal ways

It's a 100 card deck including a Legendary creature that encompasses all the colors of the deck (e.g. Krenko, Mob Boss makes a mono-Red EDH deck, Glissa, the Traitor makes a Golgari deck, Kresh the Bloodbraided makes Jund, no 4 color Legends, Progenitus makes 5 color, Karn, Silver Golem makes colorless) Other than basic lands (not counting Relentless Rats and Shadowborn Apostle ) there can only be one copy of each card in the deck.

Wow, and now I know. That sounds pretty intricate. Wouldn't Progenitus 's effect be counter productive with this format? The whole "return to library" effect instead of putting it back in the "command zone"?

No, when you commander die, you can choose to exile it to the command zone or to put it in the graveyard.

Ahh, so that effect would pertain more to Standard. Gotcha
