First FNM Win!!!

Deck Help forum

This deck snatched me my first ever 1st place win at my local FNM: Gruul Blitz (1st Place FNM)

I definitely had some trouble, though - mainly with the sideboard. I went up against a lot of B/U and some token/reanimator stuff and almost everyone Blind Obedience d me post-sideboard.

Any sideboard ideas to cover up weak spots?

Seems like you need a little enchantment hate in your sideboard. I dont play standard anymore so I cant really suggest specific cards.

Naturalize for your sideboard. It'll shut down Obedience no problem. Most people only side in 1 or 2 anyway, never more than that.

Also, congrats!

Congrats, I remember my first win, it's a great feeling :D

And yeah I typically pack around 2-3 enchantment hate in sideboard. Naturalize is a good one.

Since you splash white ff you ran a full set of Huntmaster of the Fells  Flip I'd probably suggest Sundering Growth . You get rid of their pesky Blind Obedience and beat their face with a fresh 4/2 hasty wolf token with your Ogre Battledriver in play.

Thanks everyone for the congrats and suggestions on the enchantment hate! I really feel like it would make more sense if Gruul Charm destroyed enchantments instead of the "gain control" junk, but I'm looking forward to Destructive Revelry from Theros!

RGInstantDestroy target artifact or enchantment. Destructive Revelry deals 2 damage to that permanent's controller.

Can't!!! Wait!!!

I'm also wondering if Rubblebelt Raiders and Disciple of the Old Ways will see more play after rotation.
