First legacy deck, white weenie, need help

Deck Help forum

Hey. Im creating my first legacy deck for my casual playgroup and could use some feedback. Its not the best deck, but it seems fun to play.

Its a white weenie deck designed to slow down your opponent and making their targeted spells useless while you keep swinging with the Jitte.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated! I know all about Wasteland and Rishadan Port , both super great cards i cant afford :). deck-large: this-deck-needs-a-cool-nameoh.. and suggestions for names would be cool.

Path to Exile is a great card, and a lot of decks dont run basics, and a majority that do, dont have many creatures for you to target anyway, i think Ghost Quarter is always a viable option if you're building budget since it can at least shut off 1 color

a 3rd thalia may be a good idea, she can attract a decent amount of hate, and its one of those card you want to have in play, not itd be nice to draw

mckin, not in legacy, Path to Exile never finds slots, except in the fringe decks. You do not want to ramp an opponent, a lot of decks run basics, I do/did in esper deathblade and you'll find them in other dual/tri color decks. this isn't modern. It's a completely different beast. Same reasons Ghost Quarter isn't really vialble.

fyi, Swords to Plowshares is relatively cheap, and some versions cheaper than Path to Exile , so it isn't about cost being a problem to get them.

Thanks for your comment. I run Swords to Plowshares instead of Path to Exile since there is no deck in my playgroup with only non basics. Also, there is plenty of decks with 0 creatures, so some matchups StP is a dead card. The same goes for Ghost Quarter , in a meta with at least 30% basic lands it would just set me back a land while the opponent fetches the basic he needs.

A 3rd thalia would be good. Would you say its a good idea to replace one of the Mirran Crusader with another thalia?

... any suggestions for what to call the deck? :)

gufymike first off, "Budgeting for Taxes" really made me laugh! the deck name is decided (if no one cant top that) :)

This deck is for a modernish legacy environment. Its a legacy deck because of mother of runes, swords to plowshares and stoneforge. However, its played casually in a group where formats doesnt really matter, and will be played against living end, tron and other modern decks. It doesnt have to be legacy competitive. It would be nice tho if i eventually could bring it down and testdrive it at my LGS, but then i guess i need the fancy expensive lands.

I have Swords to Plowshares so the price doesnt affect me. The cards i need to purchase for this build are Blinkmoth Nexus , Ethersworn Canonist , Spellskite , Squadron Hawk , and Thalia, Guardian of Thraben . So, if any of those cards could be replaced with another (about same cost) card, i would appreciate a shout out before i click order :)

See my post in the deck, Serra Avenger over Squadron Hawk , turn 4 for this 2 drop is fine. you'll have other plays 1-3.
