First non-FNM Tournament

Deck Help forum

I am doing my first non-FNM tournament tonight. It is Swiss format, standard constructed. Not really sure what that means but I am sure I will find out.

I am taking You Just BANT Win. It has done well at FNM and this is the same format, so I am expecting a good night. Any last minute suggestions before I leave?

Thanks!!!!

Moved to Deck Help.

Swiss and Standard Constructed are typically the rules used for FNM events. Is this event just a larger one?

Swiss means a number of rounds that depends on the number of people involved. You then play best two out of three. After the final round, the players who won the most rounds with the best records go to top 8, top 16, etc., which are single-elimination.

Standard Constructed means the Standard format (past two years worth of sets, so Innistrad and Return to Ravnica* blocks with M13). Constructed means you build your deck before the event, not during (which is called "Limited," i.e. booster draft and sealed).

Yea...it was actually the DGM Game Day event. I took second in the top 8 after 4 undefeated rounds. RDW was too much tempo for me in the end.

Sorry to hear that. I use two Blind Obedience in my sideboard too, for red variants, but yeah, sometimes it's just not enough.

I sided them in, 2x, but I never drew them either game 2 or 3. Game 1: Cam out faster than he did, so it was an easy win. Game 2 was really slow with no farseek or mana dork in opener. Game 3 mulled to 5 in opener and still couldn't get a good draw. Not a bad night, though. Pulled a Watery Grave in my packs I won.
