First Standard Deck - need some real help

So I'm relatively new to Magic. I've played for a few years, but VERY casually, and am only now starting to really get into it. Problem is, I'm playing with people who are very much not new to the game and can't even begin to keep up.

Here's the deck, specific problems inside: Mill-Cipher (ADVICE NEEDED!)

Also, another question, some friends have told me to turn this into an esper deck - what's that really mean outside of just adding white? Any help appreciated!

thanks dbrannon. I redid the deck, this time emphasizing cipher more than mill (though in playtests it IS capable of milling out whole decks): Mill Cipher ver. 2
