First time POD deck

Deck Help forum

I'm thinking about making my first Birthing Pod deck and need some help. What are some of the essentials that need to be included? I'm thinking of having it ramp up to Engulfing Slagwurm /Lure and Massacre Wurm . Those three cards on the field at once is quite fun and getting that combo out would be my goal for the deck.

Obviously I need 4x Birthing Pod s. What else? I figure a couple Birds of Paradise and/or Llanowar Elves are a good start also.

Thanks in advance.

You should probably go with 2 or 3 colors. My current pod deck is B/G/W, commonly known as Junk Pod. The one doing best at tournaments is Bant (W/U/G) pod.

If you want to focus solely on that combo, BGW are the best colors for you (most enchantment tutors are in green and white, so you can grab lure).

It will either be B/G/U or B/G/R. Haven't decided yet.

BUG pod has seen more play, but i've always wanted to see a jund pod deck to do well, it depends how high you value Skaab Ruinator

I own 1 copy of Skaab Ruinator . I'm trying to keep this deck down to only cards I own, so a full playset of him is unlikely.

What is a jund deck? I don't know that term

Jund was a shard in alara, with the tricolor combo, Green, Black, and Red.

Bant Pod (BUG) is worth doing. You should only have 1 Ruinator in the deck anyway, youre going to try to pod into him as an early beater.
