Getting Into Modern

Standard is just a bit too expensive for me at the moment, and so I have began to retool some of my older decks to be modern playable. The one that is the forerunner for me to start bringing to my game shop is A New Hope. It seems to run well against my friends (who run melira pod and scapeshift), but I am always looking for ways to improve it... especially given I do not know the modern card pool quite as well as I am sure some others do. Sideboard help would be especially appreciated. Thanks.
