Gideon with Ghost Council

Can you use Gideon, Champion of Justice's ultimate before your Obzedat, Ghost Council comes back into play? If you could that would make the planes walker much more valuable and find him a serious nitch.
Otherwise, no planeswalker abilities can not be cast out of turn. But Oblivion Ring your keepsakes and then exile everything.

No you can't council comes back before you do anything. To get around it though id blink council then use Gideon. Both at your endstep.

You would have to temporarily permanently remove Obzedat, Ghost Council.
This can be accomplished through Oblivion Ring and/or Detention Sphere.
Once you activate Gideon's ultimate, it would destroy the O-Ring or D-Sphere, and your Obzedaty bo-bot-y would be the only thing on the battlefield.

Planeswalkers abilities can only be activated any time you could play a sorcery. Furthermore, Gideon's ultimate will not destroy anything, it exiles everything. There is a HUGE difference between the two. Blinking Obzedat won't save him either, as it's a global effect that hits everything but Gideon.
The ONLY way to save your creature from his ultimate is an exile effect like Fiend Hunter, Oblivion Ring, or Detention Sphere

A flicker would work too, playing Cloudshift in response to Gideon's ult.

No it won't acbooster. Flicker doesn't stop a global effect, and GIdeon's ultimate is a global effect.

Cloudshift won't work because it resolves fully, returning obzedat to play before Gideon's ult resolves so it would still exile it.

Yeah this is all kind of what I assumed. Just figured I would make sure before I moved on just in case it was a better pairing than I expected. I suspect we might see something come out within Dragon Maze that will make Gideon a little more Playable in standard. His Ultimate is just not worth it most of the time. You end up with a completely empty field except for probably a 1/1 indestructible Gideon most of the time. If they release something that makes it so lands you control can't be exiled or something like that it would be more effective and would make him much better. Then you could ultimate him and then proceed with your turn and drop something big for essentially gg.

Using his ultimate IS gg, as with most (if not all) planeswalkers. That is why they are hard to reach, cause they are so powerful.
Venser is insane if you can hit his ultimate. Okay I cast a bunch of 1-2 drops and exile lots of your stuff. Garruk and Jace also are deadly, alongside Liliana. I ultimate Liliana of the Dark Realms in an EDH game once, and cast/resolved a Mind Grind for 23.
TL;DR Planeswalker ultimates ARE gg

I don't think so, if I remember correctly you can't use Planeswalker effect until Main Phase 1
