Going Standard Makes Me Angry

Deck Help forum

Hey all - I've been trying to make my Mill/Control deck standard, and my two options seem to be to go more defensive or more aggro. I decided upon aggro. I called it Milled Black and Blue because I like to think I'm a clever wordsmith (I'm not), and any suggestions anyone has for it would be great. I'm just working on the side board, which will mainly be counter spells (for dealing with control and aggro), kill cards, and defenders (again for aggro).

Without even looking at the build, aggro and control seem like two contradictory terms to me. Throw milling in there and it seems like you should shift more toward control becasue the aggro will not do a thing to help you mill your opponent out. You should commit to milling and worry about keeping their creatures locked down in order to be able to milll the opponent out. Stay away from trying to deal damage and focus on how to lock down or wipe the board with other stuff. Look at Esper control builds.

Yeah, they can work well together - my current modern deck is similar, if a little less aggressive. Pure milling just isn't all that enjoyable for me.
