ive been wanting to create a great combo deck for quite some time now, and since im newer to the game of magic, i dont know very many card combos. I WAS JUST WONDERING, WHAT ARE SOME GOOD COMBOS OUT THERE? any format works. standard would work great for me to get into some tourney's, but i would also just like to make a few for casual play. any help would be greatly appreciated.
i do know one good combo:
Heartless Hidetsugu / Overblaze
...although it is kind of a desperate move. i do have that combo in a deck of mine:

There is currently a standard infinite mana/infinite mill combo in standard, involving Axebane Guardian + Galvanic Alchemist and Doorkeeper + 2 more defenders.

Also using card:Devil's Play for infinite damage rather than the harder-to-set-up infinite mill.

I just use Gilded Lotus + Archaeomancer + Ghostly Flicker in a deck that uses triggered abilities like Vigilante Justice and Guttersnipe . It's somewhat versatile in that, when you throw in a Goblin Electromancer you can produce infinite mana, and the combo can take a different route if you use Zealous Conscripts and Deadeye Navigator with Gilded Lotus for infinite mana to use to flicker the conscripts to take control of your opponent's permanents at the beginning of their upkeep so they're left with nothing to do, and if you have Archaeomancer and Ghostly Flicker out you can keep permanent control of their lands, artifacts and creatures. It's also in the right colours to use with Izzet Staticaster which is amazing for early removal. You can flicker it and deal more damage. I've splashed green in the deck for Nightshade Peddler , and Quirion Dryad as a possible addition too

Though i must admit... if you really want a combo deck, look no further than elves. They have an obvious synergy and the fact that they produce so much mana so early on makes them really good at comboing off early on. There's a few ways you can do the whole combo thing...
Here's my mana-dork deck... Creature Storm
Its not elves per-say but it has a LOT to offer. Ideally the deck would combo off on turn 4 and then by the end of the turn you'd swing in with a bunch of 21/21 creatures, courtesy of Craterhoof Behemoth
