Good Rock deck?

Deck Help forum

I'm thinking about trying a rock-type deck, either straight GB or maybe GBw. However, I don't really know where to start.

Anyone know a good list I can ideas from?

deck:trostedat-the-voice-of-the-council is really good.

That doesn't really seem to fit with the look of other Rock decks I've seen, which mainly use high toughness creatures and kill spells to control the battlefield.

deck:rock-your-body is where I'm going to start. Any suggestions would be helpful.

I've been doing pretty well with the B/G Rock deck posted on my profile (there's only one). 5-1 at the last FNM I played. Didn't play at our last GPT because I was a floor judge, but from what I can tell, it has a good match up against the bulk of what the filed is at my LGS. I've made a few changes here and there, but it's a solid control list. A bit lower on the removal spell count, but it has plenty of ways to survive an aggro onslaught and is tailored to go very late, since you don't want to be embarrassed by other control lists

So just my 2 cents, I don't have a deck to link (though I could put one up xD), however I do know the bare essentials of Rock decks. You need hand and board control (thoughtsieze and kill spells mostly) and you need value creatures, things that when you play them, they will ALWAYS do something and they ALWAYS have to be answered, and you just go down the line going "can you answer this? Yes? On to the next guy. No? Game?" Creatures like this are usually Desecration Demon and Deathrite Shaman and Scavenging Ooze . The only big thing that was lost when rotation hit, in B/G at least, was Vampire Nighthawk and, though he is a powerhouse, he isn't irreplaceable in that there are still good 3 drops to fill his spot.
