green and thragtusk

is the cow an auto include if running green in standard? is it pointless to run green without the cow? thoughts?

i just dont want to drop $60-$70 on a playset of cows, but i like the naya colors

you could run a naya human deck that doesn't really need Thragtusk , just a turn 4 win. The Kessig Township is an example of a deck that doesn't run "the cow".

Thragtusk is a must-have for any green midrange or control deck. He's optional in the super-fast aggro decks in standard right now, where he's more of a sideboard card.
