G/U Gravepower: Is Sundering Growth worth it?

Deck Help forum

The deck I am referring to is deck:dead-marshes.

I'm thinking of running Sundering Growth instead of the meat-and-potatoes Naturalize , and I would like some opinions on this swap.

Now, the populate ability that Sundering Growth offers will only be useful if I already have Kessig Cagebreakers on the field and at least one token produced, and then it won't be giving me anything other than a 2/2 wolfie; but at the same time, that gives it another potential use than Naturalize for the same CMC.

However, Sundering Growth , in my deck, would need GG, wheras Naturalize would need 1G. That extra optional color could prove an advantage, and most of the time Kessig is producing enough tokens that populate isn't really necessary.

Thoughts? What would you suggest?

You have 14 Green sources in the deck. If you ever find yourself at a time without 2 Green mana, you need to reevaluate your deck.

That is a good point. If I ever don't have 2 Green, I will be losing anyway.

I rarely got the tokens in my playtedting, but populate isn't a requirement for the card, and seeing as you have only 4 lands that don't generate green, I'd say it's a good bet for the deck.

I will add in by saying that at worst, it's just destroying an enchantment or artifact, at best, it's giving you another body. so it's probably worth keeping
