heartless summoning + necrotic ooze deck help.

Deck Help forum

i really need help for the deck that i'd like to run deck:heartless-ooze-comments-please at my local shop in a constructed tourney only problem is almost EVERYONE runs Solar flare decks (you know.. counter your opponent until turn 6 when you casually play a sun titan and pull back 3 phantasmal images) my question is this: how do i improve it and make it more competitive against those kinds of decks? (i figured that they would be countering me for he first 5 turns so i went with the necrotic ooze/bloodline keeper/grimgrin combo with my own twist of heartless summoning) any help/suggestions/advice/criticism would be appreciated.

you can add some discard by taking out some cards like:

-3 Swiftfoot Boots +3 Distress -1 Grimoire of the Dead +1 Surgical Extraction

and maybe add some Memoricide to the sideboard.

The swiftfoots are for the really nice haste on a necrotic ooze... playtested against a friend he used DoJ so I dropped ooze hasted it and proceeded to make an x/x unblockable for game but I REALLY like your suggestion of distress ill have to give a good hard look and see what I can live without and if I had another surgical id do -2 book +2surgicals bit 1 and 1 would work. Ill give that a try lol thanks so much

Also what would you side out for memoricide? Cause as of now the witchbane orbs are siding in for the books.

Memoricide to break any combo and knowing what your enemy needs to win take that card and all the copies.

i would take out the 2xSteel Hellkite beacuse although i love the ability of the hellkite , necrotic ooze is supposed to win the match when hit so no need to destroy anything.

That was a quality suggestion! Keep em coming man. Also what do you think of myr propagator?

I prefer the Bloodline Keeper instead of Myr Propagator beacuse it is a better card for def and atk , and has the same purpose in the combo.

Well I was planning on using that ability in response to spot removals and as a manage dump if I had extra mana at the end of someones turn. Cause it will put another necrotic ooze on the field :D

It has the disadvantage of not being able to get around doj. But its advantage is it gets around o-ring "in response to you choosing to o-ring my ooze ill pay 3 and make another lol"

maybe u can have some in the sideboar if u play against some deck with alot of removal.

As it says above everyone at the shop I play at plays solar flare lol so it involves a lot of removal / counterspells

yes but solar flares uses day of judment and o-rings and Myr Propagator only works against the o-rings and other direct removal. maybe u can use just one in mainboard and have the rest in the sideboard, they will work really well against RDW.

One question on that propagator thing... if I made my ooze an x/x would the token copy be the same p/t? Or would it revert to its natural state? Aka would it copy the counters? No right?

Oh yea they will lol. What about 2 souleaters 2 propagators? Would that work?
