Help against pingers
Deck Help forum

I recently built a deck that had been just an idea for a little over a year now. It did surprisingly well in my (very casual) meta, but I just flat out lost if my opponent controlled a pinger (eg Goblin Sharpshooter ).
As my deck revolves around destroying opposing creatures with -1/-1 counters, I don't want to add actual creature removal. The best card against pingers (for this deck!) I could come up with is Pithing Needle . It shuts them down and can be tutored by Trinket Mage .
Are there better cards? What should I take out for it? General suggestions for the deck?

@ChiefBell: The only things that give a creature protection from red are white auras. When I want to cast the aura on Leech Bonder or Hex Parasite , they just kill it before it resolves. Plus, I don't play white. Thanks for the suggestion, though.

Bubble Matrix perhaps? Leads to fun board states as well.

Sword of Fire and Ice and Sword of War and Peace also give protection.

@Blakkhand: Oh man, that card seems really fun. I will definitely try it. Thanks!
@cschiller: Oh right, forgot about the swords. Same problem, though.

The best that i could suggest is splashing black for Skinrender , but honestly, pingers don't make up a very significant portion of most metas so you shouldn't have to worry about them, (unless you play with a small group and one or two people use them)

@KingSorin: Yeah, that is exactly my problem. But of course you're right, they're not that prevalent. That's why I'm looking for more general cards that can help with other problems, too. Like Pithing Needle or Bubble Matrix .
Eh, I'm not a fan of splashig a third color in here. The deck is quite clunky as it is.

You could try protection. Protection means that the card can't be targeted by sources of that colour. So pro red would stop Goblin Sharpshooter .
