Hey guys, I am trying to make a mono-black devotion deck that is cheap, it is just for casual play. Here it is so far Mono-Black Devotion - Budget, any suggestions? . Please suggest anything that might make the deck less pricey and possibly better. Thanks a ton!
What I've seen people do for mono-b devotion type decks on the budget side is actually move into playing the bog brew deck. It's not that bad of budget deck and with the right pilot can give the competitive decks fits and issues.

budget mono-black eh?
Well, let's start off with some powerful commons
add a few permanents with lots of B:
4x torment's herald
Now there's a bit more theme involved! Aggros!
4x Spiteful Returned (3/1? that can enchant on things!)
4x Tormented Hero (2/1 1-drop with an upside?) YES!
4x Mogis's Marauder (haste! evasion!)
4x Rakdos Cackler (1 drop 2/2 )
4x Pain Seer (the card advantage)
4x Read the Bones (scry!)
1x Dark Prophecy (gives U/W something to think about before wiping.)
18x Swamp .
Anything else?
some sideboard tech
2x Ultimate Price - die pack rats
3x Bile Blight - die pack rats
2x Revoke Existence - die gods (couldn't find B answers for thassa so splash some white)
3x Pithing Needle - die pack rats also elspeth, aetherling, and other stupid things
3x Fortify - was gonna say golgari charm, but Drown in Sorrow and Bile Blight is a thing/
2x Dark Prophecy - potentially be good

I think in place of Underworld Connections if you want to make it cheaper use Dark Prophecy . Itll give you that extra devotion and is cheap at the cost of consistency
