Are there any budget restrictions?

Do you have a preference or disinclination for netdecking?

What is your meta like?

What do you like to play?

Budget: not really

Idk what netdecking/ my meta is.....

I like to play aggro and controll mainly

I'll post the cards that are cornerstones to decks currently:

, Burning VengeanceMTG Card: Burning Vengeance, Sorin, Lord of InnistradMTG Card: Sorin, Lord of Innistrad, Birthing PodMTG Card: Birthing Pod, Heartless SummoningMTG Card: Heartless Summoning, Kessig Wolf RunMTG Card: Kessig Wolf Run, Stromkirk NobleMTG Card: Stromkirk Noble

Picking any one of those will set you down a path toward a particular archetype. If you select none, you are building something rogue.

Also: Tempered SteelMTG Card: Tempered Steel

Netdecking means you just copy a popular deck online, rather than tweak it to your play style.

ahh ok im fine with netdecking.

Is Birthing PodMTG Card: Birthing Pod just a way to get out bigger creatures faster?

If you like aggro and control, then maybe check out all the U/W Tempo decks, specifically PikeBlade.

Yes. It is the deck I am currently building: G/B Undying Pod

HM pod seems interesting. Does it really matter what other color you match birthing pod up with?

Pod decks are usually somewhat combo-oriented, using enters-the-battlefield and on-death abilities to their advantage to essentially cycle their creatures into better ones.

The colors you build a Pod deck around affect what creatures you have available and also what support spells you get. For example, GB Pod can use Birds of ParadiseMTG Card: Birds of Paradise, SkinrenderMTG Card: Skinrender, Viridian EmissaryMTG Card: Viridian Emissary, etc. If you splash white, you can do things like pod Wurmcoil EngineMTG Card: Wurmcoil Engine into Elesh Norn, Grand CenobiteMTG Card: Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite.

With artifact hate and Grafdigger's CageMTG Card: Grafdigger's Cage, I think Pod decks are a bit endangered. You'll have to build carefully if you want to play one and overcome the answers to it.

Is a GR pod deck a good idea?

January 31, 2012 3:20 a.m.

GR seems too limited in what it can do. What would you use for a creature lineup?

January 31, 2012 3:21 a.m.

Inferno titan and balefire dragon both came to mind

The most common colors are Bant (GWU) and Naya (GWR).

Bant allows you to do silly things with Sun TitanMTG Card: Sun Titan and Phantasmal ImageMTG Card: Phantasmal Image, plus Blade SplicerMTG Card: Blade Splicer is an awesome 3-drop.

I like GB because it keeps the mana simple and has a lot of removal through creatures. Additionally, Massacre WurmMTG Card: Massacre Wurm is the nuts against tokens.

You can find out more about Bant Pod here, and all other Pod variants here.

As Epochalyptik said, artifact hate and Grafdigger's CageMTG Card: Grafdigger's Cage are cards that need to be taken into account. The deck should be able to run efficiently without Birthing PodMTG Card: Birthing Pod (to get around artifact hate) and have answers to the Cage (green is good at this, thankfully).
