Help with a gruul deck - budget

Hi!

I'm a noob at the game and I have a free deck which I want to improve with a budget of like 10$ or so, max 20$ definitely, less is more.

Also I realize most people won't necessarily want to use their time to search all the cards and create a complete deck, so you can also recommend a theme for my deck based on the cards I have right now which would be a decent affordable deck.

I would also like to hear what you're thinking when you're making this deck, so it makes it easier for me to make my choice based on the thought process going with the improvements.

Thanks in advance :).

Coming from another beginner ... Elvish Mystic is a must in any Gruul Deck and runs about $0.50 per card at my local shop (so $2.00 for a playset). I would also say a Sedge Scorpion ($0.15 per card) or Wasteland Viper ($0.25 per card) would be nice one drops. Kalonian Tusker , Zhur-Taa Druid are also budget cards you could use. Ghor-Clan Rampager , Destructive Revelry and Clan Defiance are more pricey ($0.50 to $1.25) a card but run well.

Hope this helps some - but i'm sure better players will be able to help you more. I just went to a Friday Night Magic and asked people I saw using a Gruul Deck.

I dropped about $12.00 into my first Gruul Deck after getting a starter red and white deck for free at local events.

I will definitely look towards those cards, especially the Zhur-Taa Druid . Thanks!

I will take a look at your deck right now. My gruul deck is a little pricy but it has some good cards in it. If you want to take a look here it is

Is your deck supposed to be a standard format deck?
