Help with an Esper deck

I have a W/U deck that I have been playing for a while, Warning: This deck may cause friend loss, and I'm looking to splash black for Esper. I have a few questions though: Which black cards are most important to get first? and is Thoughtseize that much important to get instead of Duress ? Keep in mind that I am on a budget, so I just want to know the order of importance of cards for the deck.
