Help with building first deck (Beginner -White/Black - Standard)

Hey everyone,

I recently was introduced to Magic by one of my friends, and have gotten to the point after a few games where I understand the core mechanics of the game. I've always been interested in deck creation for the various card games I've played in the past, and I'd like to start creating decks for Magic.

I went out and bout the 2014 Deck Builder's Toolkit, and have come up with my first deck.

First Deck - White Black

The goal for this deck is to heal myself as frequently as possible, while at the same time, being able to attack and defend effectively. I'm looking for some advice as to card replacements and maybe even some tips on creating better synergy in future decks.
