What would straight out beat 90% of the games against a deck that has...

Honor of the pure, Intangible virtue, Knighthood, glorious anthem, Raise the alarm, Midnight Haunting, Lingering souls and Gather the Townsfolk

all of them x4

he just gets all the enchantmens out by turn 2-4 and start producing 3/3 ( at least ) tokens every turn.

I win most of my games against him, but i want a deck that proves to him that his deck is worthless

thx in advance :)

my friend is the same way he spent a ton of money on what his friends told him were tourney builds when they are just crap that would never be respectable in tourney play. the best way to take these people down isn't just to beat them with one deck over and over again because their ego will make them think that it is just a bad matchup and not their deck that is bad, it is to beat them with several decks among all ranges of deck types. I have beat all of his decks with control, combo, aggro, aggro/control, combo/control, and burn. after two months of beating his face in to the floor he finally wised up and ask me to help him build his decks if he needed it. so for you i would suggest board control, it is key as it shuts down his board presence and that will allow you to sneak you way into his life the best ways to do this are Bonfire of the Damned , Terminus , Supreme Verdict , Mutilate , Mizzium Mortars , Cyclonic Rift against tokens, Detention Sphere , and Sever the Bloodline . all of these cards work to help clear his board and give you time to establish your own board presence and if your worried about him getting in overhead then you can also use Silklash Spider to help clear the skys. hope this helps and for the sake of all respectalbe magic players bring him down a peg.

Supreme Verdict , Terminus , and their ilk could help.

Sever the Bloodline and Paraselene or Detention Sphere also Ash Zealot makes him think twice about casting Lingering Souls form his graveyard.

Chain Reaction could always bring his ego back in check if you can live with the downside.

Just make a deck you enjoy playing and let your friend enjoy his deck. And only playing standard cards is a major disadvantage.

Yeah, this seems like a mean way to play the game. metagaming is one thing...taking his deck list and handpicking each card to slaughter it is another thing.

That being said my buddy and I used to play alot of one vs one and our builds were always tailored to beat each other....not 90% of the time though.

Screw all those expensive kill spells and board wipes, little old Ratchet Bomb takes care of tokens just fine.

Ratchet Bomb would be a little overkill, don't u think ? :)
