homing lightning vs pack rat/mutavault

Alright this is my last thing on my deck:

Alright I thought it was a great card to play last ptq i went to about 2 weeks ago, its Homing Lightning . its like blacks Bile Blight for red. its easier and quicker to get than Mizzium Mortars if you are racing their Pack Rat 's that is.

It was somewhat successful and very much unexpected as most people haven't seen the card at all, which is suspect, but sad to have it not seen as much.

Anyways is Homing Lightning worth having in the deck as red's bile blight for 2 more mana? It helps against mono-black's rat, and the control deck's Mutavault s. However, is it really worth it to put it in the deck for those two cards, and just maybe a few other cards?

Homing Lightning doesn't have the speed required to make it big-time. If you are 'racing their Pack Rat s' it would be easier to simply burn them with something like Magma Jet , Shock or Lightning Strike . The thing that puts Bile Blight well over Homing Lightning is it's INCREDIBLY tiny casting cost. Overall, my suggestions would be drop the Homings and throw in either Shock or Lightning Strike s. The reason for not suggesting Magma Jet is because it doesn't have the 1 for 2 damage or the 2 for 3 damage that will allow you to 'race Pack Rat '. Hope it helps!
