I'm building a deck: U/W and am wondering how to properly utilize AEtherling . Just kind of wondering the best time to exile him and such! Thanks!

  1. Block then blink so its a wasted attack
  2. When targeted by removal/burn
  3. To untap him after an attack so he can block

Exile him in response to removal spells, or before the end of your turn if you plan on blocking with him on your opponent's turn. Always pay attention to how you tap your mana for other things to make sure you leave a blue available to use.

Generally you want to wait until you have 7-8 mana on the field to cast him, more if you're facing a deck that has counter spells. That way you have some protection as soon as it resolves.

Once AEtherling is on the board, the most important aspect is to avoid tapping out. As long as you have mana up he's protected, so whenever someone points a removal spell at him you exile him in response. That should always be your most primary use of it.

If you do have quite the mana lead established. You can start to exile him for other tricks. Attack, pump, second main exile, cast Supreme Verdict , get him back end of turn. Block something without trample, exile.

Hi, well, I also have AEtherling and to this point I have never been able to make him fit in any deck since it is to expensive, but I will tell you what I can.He always gets into late play so it is more of the kind of card I used as a finisher since he has an unblockable efect and you can increase the atack, I used to exile him when he get a silly enchantment like pacifism or something.Ive always thought he would fit in a B/G deck since green can speed up mana, but since I dont have a deck like that Ive never tried it.

The biggest rule of thumb with AEtherling is you never want to tap out with him in play unless you have no other choice.

EightAndAHalfFingers did you actually mean B/G or blue green because blue green is U/G just saying

Mistake in my last coment: I meant a U/G deck, sorry.
