How to use Brion Stoutarm *oversized*...

Deck Help forum

Posted on March 13, 2013, noon by Schuesseled

Just pulled a Brion Stoutarm and i am thinking of putting him in my current boros deck: Assemble the Legion. Then Kill People..

But I've never played with or against him, what's the "way" to play with him, considering the set up i already have.

Thanks, either reply on here or on my deck's page.

He doesn't really fit that deck. He is best with undying creatures(double your fun), or ball lightning creatures (low cc for high power and you will sac anyway).

potentially it could but id play it after assemble the legion is out, then you can just sac tokens (and eventually start gaining tokens)

I'm thinking of ways he could be used.

  1. Ghost Blocking - Block with a crumby token, and instead of chump blocking sacrifice to gain 1 life.

  2. Attack with Boros Swiftblade enchanted with Scourge of the Nobilis, use firebreathing to maximise power, damage and lifegain, and after combat sacrifice to deal more damage and gain more life. Next tun/ Later in the game, play Sun Titan equip with Lightning Greaves, bring back my original creature and enchantment.

I think he fits well enough. Having the token generator to provide a constant stream of fodder to chunk is nice for him, even if it's not exactly high-powered fodder.

Don't forget that at the end of the day, he's still a 4/4 lifelink for 4 mana. That's reason enough to include him in a lot of RW decks, honestly. He's an aggressively-costed beater with a backside that's resistant to dying who can help you win a race, plus he can start lobbing things over a board stall if it comes to that.

Yeah, I agree, so take out a Nearheath Pilgrim? I think that would be best.
