I need suggestions for a new standard mill deck.

Deck Help forum

I'm going insane trying to figure out how to build a quick mill deck with the staples going out with the zendikar block and M11. I'm liking the new Jace as well as running Jaces Archivist and the Erasure. Beyond that, I've got a playset of mana leak, and mental misstep. Anyone have any ideas on how I can defend myself and lock the game for a quick mill to the victory?

Maybe try a Sword of Body and Mind and maybe even run some artifacts and Screeching Silcaw

A friend of mine runs 3x Rites of Flourishing and 2 or 3 Consecrated Sphinx es, and uses Surgical Extraction and Haunting Echoes to just wreck the opponents deck in fairly quick order. echoes is going out with Zendikar, sadly. I don't know if you need countermagic, really -- I guess it depends on your metagame; I might just rely on removal like dismember and black sun's zenith.

Of course you coul always wait for innistrad. Usually after the core set release, the next block has always had cards which combo with them. For now, Mindcrank and SoBaM and Screeching Silcaw should do.

I'm not known for my award winning patience. But I've been working on organizing something. May even let my mill deck fall to extended.

T2 Standard mill? I had an idea for something along those lines. I haven't tried it out yet buuuttt... Myr Welder , Myr Galvanizer x2 and Palladium Myr . Imprint Grindclock on Myr Welder and the infinite Myr combo will do the rest.

I made a fun and aggressive mill, main card card:Jace's Erasure and it was packed with draw spells. all that happened was draw->mill then pretty soon i got another erasure and another and the enemy couldnt do anything to stop it, mind you, i was playing against a lifegain deck, by turn 5 i whipped out Haunting Echoes ... endgame. too bad its going out of circulation, im editing mine too may put in Screeching Silcaw s and Shriekhorn s. Eventually itll be a metalcrafting one with Mindcrank i just need to find out how im gonna draw insane numbers of cards again. Perhaps card:Tezzeret's Gambit, Thrummingbird , Grindclock and Trigon of Thought . I kinda need to work on the concept, myself. though its costy, i would recommend Belltower Sphinx the cost wont matter as much when you draw and drop lands each turn. counterspells are no big deal. you just need really good blockers.

Forget other mill cards. Just use Jace, Memory Adept , along with controling the board and spells. I recommend U/W, or U/B. Here's a link to my deck variant. Jace Mill (The way mill should be played)
