I have a foil swamp from a set (idk exactly but it has an hourglass on it) and I just wanted to know if that illegal in standard or any format for that matter?

Sounds like a Time Spiral swamp. No matter the format, if youre playing a card in your deck, and its legal in that format, it doesnt matter which printing it is, as long as it's indistinguishable from other cards. For instance, if Brainstorm was legal in standard, you could use the Ice Age version, Mercadian Masques, Izzet vs Golgari, etc. As long as the English name exactly matches, youre good.

Another example Vampire Nighthawk is a reprint from zendicar, you are free to use the zendicar or even the commander version. Also any of the duals from M10-M13 are legal in standard.

In short, you can use Basic Lands from any set you want. Don't sweat it.

That's a "time spiral" land, they look good in general.
Standard format only cares about the NAMES of the card, the set that the cards come from makes no difference so long as it's standard legal.

As long as you cant tell one card back from another your ok, I got a couple decks that I can defiantly tell what they are cause ones backs are played more than the other.
And honestly my hymn to tourach cards are unplayed but there faded to where I can tell that that's my next card.

It should be fine as long as you sleeve your deck. I use lands from Revised and they look and feel a little different; however, there's no discernible difference when in a sleeve.
