@Darkprince909..... I HATED playing against your deck. Never before have I been so pissed off by a 1 cost 1/1 creature than with a repeatedly used Cathedral Sanctifier. You had some answers to delver by blinking him once he transformed. That was about it though. The splicers also proved to be a problem because I was having to hold back attackers in order to block whilst your deck not only built up a larger army of golems and continued to gain health. I was able to bring things around my way though with an army of my own angels in the form of entreat the angels. FINAL RESULTS: U/W Delver 2- U/W Blinker 1

were games 2 and 3 sideboarded or not? and if so what did you decide to sideboard?

May 29, 2012 9:04 p.m.

vila_a23 says... #8

No, i didnt sideboard. I feel that to get the most out of sideboarding the person who built the deck and who plays most with it should sideboard seeing as how they would be able to make better sideboarding choices.

@BrownDog5117....... Both games went on forever. As expected against a control deck. However, your deck had to constantly put out its answers for every threat I played and with no snapcaster mage's, those answers just werent there when I came around top decking an Entreat the Angels. both games ended the turn after I played Entreat the Angels. FINAL RESULTS U/W Delver 2- Grixis Control 0

Just recently got this Naya Pod deck together, and it's my first Pod build, so I'm sure there's plenty of things to work on. I'd love to hear any advice you might have.

vila_a23 says... #13

@MyrMan76...... You are the first deck to successfully beat me in playtesting. Your deck was just too fast. I didint get off the turn 1 champion any of the games but a turn 2 elite inquisitor into a turn 3 silverblade paladin was just as much of a problem. I also like how balanced your deck was. Never once did it get flooded or mana screwed. Also it would seem like i would deal with one threat then out of nowhere you were swinging with 5 2/2 humans via increasing devotion and honor of the pure. FINAL RESULTS U/W Delver 1- Boros Humans 2.

  • my advice, take out Gisela and simply run mono white. Not once did I get out a Gisela. Not because I didn't have the mana, but because there were other things like buffing a Champion of the parish with some tokens or oblivion ringing something. But if you want to keep the red sources i have some ideas that i think would be great! Thatchers Revolt, Hero of Oxid Ridge , and Hellrider

Hey, thanks for the help on the Delver sideboard.

Now what d'you think on my other deck, deck:boros-happy-medium? Ignore the name, that's a reference for me. I look forward to seeing your results.

vila_a23 says... #18

@Tyqar...... I playtested against both your decks because i just couldnt choose which i wanted to play against more :).

vs. R/U Burn, this deck gave me problems throughout all the games played against it. I was constantly summoning a creature just to have it shot down with a burn spell. Then when it came to invisible stalkers turn, i started taking the burn damage. And that's how you beat me. Vexing Devil makes this deck stupid fast and Koth had to be the biggest annoyance of all. If I were you though I would throw in a bonfire of the damned or two. FINAL RESULTS U/W Delver 0- R/U Burn 2

vs. Spirit Flare, the deck was fun to play against. I wasn't really sure how to capitalize on the deck so that may have been the reason I was able to win via Entreat the Angels in a close 3rd game. FINAL RESULTS U/W Delver 2- Spirit Flare- 1

@sver..... Like the last Boros Humans deck i playtested against, your deck gave me problems. However, yours is just a little bit to slow. I found myself able to hold off your early game via gut shots and vapor snags on thalia and champion. Breaking your tempo like that made your deck real unstable for anything equipped with a Runechanter's Pike later on. Also, your army of humans was no match for my army of 4/4 Angels >:). There were answers in your deck for my turn 1 delver but you never got the mana for pillar of flames in time to save yourself from taking some serious damage via a turn 2 flipped delver. The deck is solid, maybe rework the mana base? Oh and maybe throw in a couple thatchers revolts. They have awesome synergy with champion of the parish and kessig malcontents.

vila_a23 says... #21

@Shane........ Your deck was fun but not fast enough. You built up the mana yes, but your big threats didn't come out until I had mine as well as my counter magic. Your Silverhearts came out but needed a target besides a bird, my threats were already fully functional. I have never piloted a G/W deck like yours so there is a very good chance that I just did something wrong or didn't play it the way it was meant to be played. FINAL RESULTS U/W Delver 2- G/W 0

I'm glad to see the Disco Inferno did well =) Thanks for the playtest.

As for the other deck, it is a bit harder to know what's going on if you're not...well...me. =D It has a couple different win-cons, but both beat face. I can control when I need to, especially post board, and generally get in there pretty well. Thanks again for the tests =D

vila_a23 says... #23

@Ezekiel....... WHY YOU NO PLAY HUNTMASTER?? Huntmaster of the fells is an obvious choice for any naya pod deck. Hell, any deck that runs red and green mana should have a Huntmaster or two in it. Huntmaster gives you a 2/2 blocker even after the huntmaster has been sacrificed, that buys you more time. Also huntmaster gains your life back that you used to pod into creatures. Also you need a more solid way of getting the pod flow going. Early on you draw alot of your big guys but not so many little guys that you want to pod (i.e. strangleroot geist). Maybe find some other low cost cards to throw in there in place of 1 or 2 big guys. Also, an Oblivion ring or 2 in the deck wouldn't hurt. FINAL RESULTS U/W Delver 2- Naya Pod 1
