Ink Treader Nephilim

Deck Help forum

Working on building myself a very casual, for fun commander deck based on Ink-Treader Nephilim (yes, I know he is not a legal commander). Unfortunately my grasp of older instants and sorceries that would produce amazing effects with Ink-Treader is decidedly lacking. So here is the deck, any and all suggestions appreciated.

I have an Ink-Treader deck, Treading Ink, and based on my experience: Run a lot of Goodstuff creatures in your colors. There's two good ways to win with Ink-Treader, one is to target him with an Act of Treason type effect, and the other is to us something like Distortion Strike . Either make all the creatures yours, or make all your creatures unblockable. I also would say to load up on some enchantment and artifact removal because enemy creatures getting Shroud or Hexproof shuts the fun of Ink-Treader down.

Heroic won't trigger off of Ink-Treader, and two instants is far too few spells to make Ink-Treader work.

The 2 instants are just because I was blanking on what else to add at the moment. And why wouldn't heroic trigger? they are each being targeted by a copy of a spell.

Because you are not casting the copies of the spell, they are simply being put on the stack. The wording of Heroic specifically says that the spell must be cast targeting the Heroic creature.

Glaring Spotlight seems like it could work well.
