Has anyone else noticed that Purphoros, God of the Forge + Hostility essentially doubles burn damage and spawns 3/1 haste tokens? plus it sends that burn damage to all opponents not just one creature or player. Good deck example of it below

I think that would actually generate an infinte loop

No, because Hostility specifies that a spell has to deal damage. When Purphoros, God of the Forge is on the battlefield, it's a permanent, not a spell.

Doesn't work. Purphoros, God of the Forge 's ability isn't a spell, so it wouldn't trigger Hostility 's ability.

Yeah its not a loop, just a powerful card combo. Plus if that was a loop it would break the game with no winner because neither cad says may and you would never actually burn your opponent, just spawn tokens until your enemy rage quits from boredom.

Even if this worked, there are far more potent combos in Modern. Splinter Twin +Pestermite comes to mind, for example.

@z2aaa: Everyone is reading it the wrong way, its not an infinite loop and Purphoros, God of the Forge doesn't trigger Hostility its the other way around. 1.Cast a burn then because of Hostility place that many tokens instead 2.After that Purphoros, God of the Forge burns each opponent for 2 for each token placed which effectively doubles (more if multiplayer) the damage the burn would have dealt and you get tokens at the same time.

@TheDevicer: It does work (see above), and it is not an infinite loop those are for people that actually need them to win. This is just a pairing of cards that is very powerful.
