"Gruul and Unusual Punishment"

Its like it screams for him to be there, but I don't wanna spend that dough. Do you think that deck needs it?

Maybe Courser instead?

domri is always going to be one of the best planeswalkers if you are running a lot of monsters.it helps you draw creatures..he can act as a murder in situations. and if you get his big move, your opponent should prey you have no creatures...though the price of him is really high. i would suggest getting them over time

Every deck becomes vastly improved by a cardadvantage engine. So, yes Domri will make the deck better. Courser is an option and will do well in your deck. But then Domri and Chandra will be great when you have perfect information so yeah.. You can "make do" with one of the peices but the more you add the better your deck will be.

Domri Rade is does a lot of things that Monsters really wants to have access to while diversifying your deck. Domri Rade is good in every match- either fighting creature decks or just using his +1 to dig for more creatures, threatening ultimate against control. He's also immune to Supreme Verdict which is a big deal for any creature based deck, as it gives you resilience through their removal.

So the reason people play 4 and the price is so high is because in the right deck Domri Rade is a no compromise always get what you want kind of card. With enough creatures, there's almost no reason not to play him.

For your deck, if you can get your hands on it, then run it. But I don't think it is 100% necessary for the deck to work well. I wouldn't run the Courser of Kruphix though. It isn't Aggro friendly.

I'm with TheGamer; I run a similar deck and considered running Domri Rade . There's no doubt he's a good card but the mistake a lot of players make is thinking he's essential... He isn't. I've won plenty of games without him. If you can find him cheaply that's great, but I wouldn't consider buying him until he drops in price; he's just not that important. You will still win games without him.

Card advantage is not that important?

A 3 drop 3 loyalty PW with both card advantage and removal (and an ultimate that just wins) sounds familiar... ah yeah Liliana of the Veil is fairly similar no? Is she popular, essential in tons of decks? There's a reason he's $35 and likely going to stay there until rotation, and even then I don't see him completely tanking. And if you run G/R monsters without him you're going to lose a LOT more than the guy who runs him in the same deck. Simple, true, facts.

If you're running lots of creatures, as a 3 drop, card advantage engine with built in removal, Domri Rade is a must have.
