Is Liliana of the Veil really worth it in my deck ?

Deck Help forum

I am juggling with the idea of using Liliana of the Veil in my deck because she cost a lot of money and in my tests, I sometimes skip a turn with her to keep my cards. I could try to trade or buy it, but I would be really pissed if I do it and then I realize that Duress or Appetite for Brains could have do the job. They cost less, and they let me chose witch card to discard and let me see my opponent's hand. Or if I find another card I just did not think of.

So if you know the cards and understand the meta-game better then I do, maybe you could highlight me a little bit.

Thanks

(my deck is: Death makes life beautiful)

it would probably be best to get to 4 Overgrown Tomb before you worry about liliana. It would be a good idea to have some sort of planeswalker for this type of deck to have some sort of non creature pressure on control, but Garruk, Primal Hunter might work out better for that matchup.

tbh im not sure i would run any of those 3 discard cards... your deck wanna smash face, not slowing the pace down by removing cards...

i know you didnt ask for ideas on the deck other than the liliana but i might aswell bring it...

i see you have Slitherhead and Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord in the deck..

jarad are a card i dont understand, it takes to much work for him to be worth it... first of he is exstremly hard to cast on turn 4 because of the double green, double black... also your whole deck is filled with creatures that both you and your oponent try to get out of the graveyard, so he will most likely never be more than a 2/2 - 4/4... i can see myself finishing my opponents with his sacrifice creature ability, but its not sumthing that will happen too often i think. in short: i just feel like you could do alot better...

slitherhed... wouldnt it be better just to run that 2/2 zombie that enter battlefield tapped?

@Demarge - I have tough about your suggestions a lot and made some tests. For Garruk, Primal Hunter , I'm not sure yet. He is powerful, but he comes late, so I will have to make more tests. The 4 Overgrown Tomb seems to be a must, now that I have play with them, I can't live without.

@Dirt3pz - I am still making some tests with Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord since I don't know what to do with him. He won me a some games, but he also felt flat sometimes. And since the deck is faster then before, he might become a problem, but for now, I am not ready to let him go. Maybe I'll only play 1 soon. For Slitherhead , I think you are right, I only play 2 of them and I added 4 Diregraf Ghoul with 4 Dreg Mangler witch are making my deck much more faster.

Thanks a lot to both of you ! : )
