Is there room for Hypersonic Dragons?

I've been building my deck up as a Red/Black Aggro (I hope). Today, I managed to win a Hypersonic Dragon as a door prize at a tournament I failed miserably at. (Yay for going 0-4! Though as a side note, I didn't have my R/B deck, so I bought a bunch of commons before the tourney to make a pauper milling deck. Anyways, back on topic...)
Looking at the dragon, I rather like the idea of it being a hasty 4/4 for flying for 5 mana. Plus, it would let me play Dreadbore s and Pillar of Flame s at instant speed. Any thoughts? Only trouble I can think of is hoping to have the win before Turn 5, so it would be a moot point or, even worse, a useless card in my hand.

There's always room for Hypersonic Dragon s! Here at the Hypersonic Dragon Shelter, we strive to bring normalcy to displaced Hypersonic Dragon s. Through the 'Boosting Roost' program, we give Hypersonic Dragon s the chance to work in our eco-friendly shelter while living on the premises. In fact, let me tell you more about our eco-friendly programs!
At the Hypersonic Dragon Shelter, we seek to leave as small a footprint as possible. So, we grow our own peasants for food, use the remains from all the bloody corpses as compost, AND provide a night of terror out on the town! As you can see, even a Cloistered Youth Flip can find a useful purpose, and every Wolfbitten Captive Flip a tasty morsel.
Now lets talk about addiction. Yes, the ugly Terastodon in the room. Arcane Denial is always the first sign of an addiction. Are those Golgari Thug s getting you down? Is there a Loxodon Smiter on your back? No problem! Call our 24 hour help center today! We'll get you set up with a trained Fauna Shaman , using only the latest Pithing Needle s, to remove your urge entirely! Besides, no one wants a Thromok the Insatiable to ruin the Festival .
A Hypersonic Dragon without a Safe Haven is only a Nether Shadow of what he could be.
*Hypersonic Dragon Shelter is a non-profit organization, although we do accept Mana Tithe and take Black Lotus as Burnt Offering s.

If you want to use it, you need to accelerate. Sadly, Standard isn't really that good for UR accerating play (You have Izzet Keyrune , Chromatic Lantern .. and that's it). If you move to the modern format, you'll have access to red mana accel (Seething Song and friends) with blue mana search (Mitotic Manipulation , Dreamscape Artist , etc) as well as the ability to pair up the hypersonic dragon with Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir and ways to keep your stuff untapped, like Unwinding Clock .
Whichever format you choose, The main issue you'll run into with this dragon is WHAT you'll do with that ability. It requires you to have:
1) Powerful soceries, that
2) Get better when you can play them on the opponent's turn.
For the bulk of decks, that simply means that "now I can cast Amass the Components at the end of your turn" which is kinda lackluster. What you could do is have series of X and Overload spells that you can suddenly use when they least expect it - Like rakdos return, card:Devil's Play, Increasing Confusion , Mizzium Mortars , etc.

It's basically a lesser version of Thundermaw Hellkite with a little added bonus. I think it's a pretty good one-off and I run one in my Izzet deck.
