Junk Rites, how to beat aggro

Deck Help forum

Here is my Junk Rites deck: Junk Rites

The only archetype I have had a problem with so far is Boros aggro and was wondering exactly how I should sideboard. I was thinking of putting in some Pacifism to go with the Abrupt Decay 's but im not sure how that would play out. I'm also not sure on when I should be using my mill and when I should be trying to play creatures against such a fest deck like Boros Aggro.

Any advice in general is appreciated as well.

Thanks!

Abrupt Decay , Blind Obedience , Fiend Hunter , and Thragtusk all are good ways to deal with fast aggro decks. Unfortunately in Junk you don't have access to Supreme Verdict :/

In junk you have access to Gaze of Granite which with the ramp provided in rites can give you a turn 3 or 4 board wipe.

Gaze of Granite looks like a pretty good alternative, I can keep in my Avacyn's Pilgrim and Arbor Elf for epic ramp and chump block for it, but I would pretty much have to draw it in opening hand for the best results since I dont want to mill it.

In terms of playstyle for this deck, in general should I try to mill over casting creatures? Of get blockers then mill?

Well there is no need to chump block, just take some damage early on, thragtusk will get it back. And you can sideboard the granites if you need, and get one ramp out and then use your salvages and mill while needed. It isn't the end of the world if you get the gaze, junk has plenty of rebounds. The mill is helpful but hard casting creatures is best if they have a way to shut down your graveyard interactions

maybe its me but i thought junk rites also used Centaur Healer 2-2 split on main/side to use against aggro paird with the already mainboarded Thragtusk

I have them, but I haven't done enough play testing. Ill add em in and see how it works. Thanks for the advice

You side out your Grisly Salvage , Mulch , and drop down to no more than two Unburial Rites , then side in cards to turn yourself into Midrange (usually multiple Abrupt Decay , Centaur Healer , Obzedat, Ghost Council , etc.)
