Kaalia of the Vast EDH tips

First off, I just got the Heavenly inferno commander deck, because I heard its the best, and I really want to get into EDH some more.
I like the idea of using Kaalia of the Vast as the general, and I wanted to know which cards are staples in a deck like this and which cards I should avoid. I've never really played much red or white and i don't know much about the colors.

The thing that I tutor for the most, whether with a sorcery of the demon that does it, is Balefire Dragon . It can and does cause completely one-sided board wipes. I did that to a Rafiq Exalted deck and it was hysterical.

The creatures which work well with Kaalia tend to be high-cost, so make sure they're worth including (Kaalia will die, so you may have to hard-cast them eventually.
Tutors like Rune-Scarred Demon , Diabolic Tutor , Demonic Tutor , and Vampiric Tutor are staples in any black EDH decks.
Don't be afraid to include creatures that aren't Angels, Demons, or Dragons. Sheoldred, Whispering One , Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite , and Urabrask the Hidden are all great examples of atypical inclusions in Kaalia that can give you an edge.
