So I run affinity in modern and I saw a video on youtube with melissa detora sacrificing her arcbound ravager to use the modular effect to put its +1/+1 counter on a blinkmoth nexus. Here's the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wEkBm1QCFIA it happens at about 35 minutes into the video. Seeing as she's a professional magic player, I would assume that this mechanic would work but at the same time, one of my friends is doubting me. Therefore, I would very much appreciate having someone (preferably a registered judge) to clarify that this mechanic does indeed work.

Rules questions should be asked in the Q&A.
Please link all cards in your question.
Arcbound Ravager
Blinkmoth Nexus

As long as Blinkmoth Nexus is animated, it's a 1/1 Blinkmoth artifact creature with flying. Because it's an artifact creature, it's a legal target for modular abilities. I don't see why your friend doubts that the play is legal.

You also don't need a judge to answer this question.

I don't see a reasoning behind needing a registered judge, but Epochalyptik is on spot like usual.

Does the +1/+1 counter fall off of Blinkmoth Nexus at end of turn?

No, the +1/+1 counters will stay on the Blinkmoth Nexus (this works the same with any counter of any type, with regards to any permanent type that normally doesn't have those counters).

What these guys said, another example of +1/+1 counters on a land would be Llanowar Reborn . With that Graft ability it comes in with the counter. and yeah you really don't need a registered judge for a rules question
