Let's Brew Dovescape

It's no secret that my favorite card of all time is Dovescape . The idea of farting out doves instead of whatever broken stuff my opponent was going to do just really gets me. The problem is, Dovescape is, objectively speaking, not a very good card.

So let's make a deck that really lets DS shine. I want it to be Legacy FNM competitive, being able to 2-2 consistently, but 3-1 or even 4-0 on a good night.

If possible, I'd also like to avoid playing blue mana. Money is an issue, and I don't have any blue lands.

Cards I know are already fairly important for the deck to succeed.:
Dovescape x 1-2
Academy Rector x 4
Orzhov Pontiff x 4
Humility x 1-2

Could work. Do I stick with Cabal Therapy as my sacrifice outlet, or should I stick with a more creature-based strategy?

Or should I just take a page out of Modern's playbook and try to brew Enduring Ideal ?

I haven't finalized the deck yet, but was making a counter-top deck more or less focused around Guile which also used Dovescape . I will be watching this thread closely and throwing in my two cents.

Invoke Prejudice often brings the funny to my group. There's that counterspell from Lorwyn I believe where if you counter a spell, clash with opponent, if you win, add x mana to your mana pool where x is the countered spell's converted mana cost.

I think reanimating into Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite in this deck would be pretty funny. Just run the Gifts Ungiven package with Dovescape and some form of enchantment tutor.

Yeah, Innocent Blood /Cabal Therapy /Phyrexian Tower should get you there (I think that's the configuration it runs).

What about, instead of cheating in Dovescape , you cheat in Enduring Ideal and try to set up Form of the Dragon +Dovescape +Gravity Sphere ? Use some Leyline of Sanctity to protect from burn, and wambam you've gotta a pretty decent set up.

Thought about just cheating in the Ideal, but it's pretty hard to do, even in Legacy. Permanents are easy to cheat into play. Spells are much harder.
