So let's say I play Lich . I understand what the card does to me, but what happens if I Donate it to my opponent?
Their life total will not change, but if I inflict damage to them, will they lose the game?

Finally, how does Academy Rector work? Can I put an enchantment in play on my under my opponent's control?

Lich will work the same way on your opponent as it would on you. When they're dealt damage, they sacrifice that many permanents. If they can't, they lose.
Yes, if they have 20 or more life any you Donate Transcendence , they will lose the game.
Academy Rector will put the enchantment onto the field under your control.

Do I lose with Lich if I donate it, though? Since I have 0 life?

So the effects of the card have transitioned from me to my opponent when I lose control of the card and he/she gains control?

Similarly, what would happen if I Donate a Transcendence ? Will they lose the game if their life total is 20 then?
