Liliana, Format Cracker

Deck Help forum

I've decided to play Grixis for Modern. I have a casual discard deck that I've transformed into deck:short-a-6 and am wondering, could this attack the format competitively? I'm concerned that I can't take out the Urza lands, but other than that I seem to be able to deal with MOST decks in the meta by peaking at their hands and taking their key cards away. Snapcaster Mage with Surgical Extraction is silly. Some help and suggestions would be appreciated, thanks everybody!

No.

Half the cards in your deck have strictly-better counterparts in the same card pool.

Well, I'm looking at it and I'd forgotten about Terminate for example, i realize I probably need a board wiper, and my creature selection is flexible. Its just a deck I started with, could easily cut to 60 and need to find Thoughtseize s. Obviously.

You say half the cards...which ones are we talking about? I made some cuts that my gut told me to make, so what do you think now?

I suppose the cannot be countered has more value than the three damage/card I can glean from looking at their hand before hand. You're probably right on that one.
