Looking for better utility

Deck Help forum

I made a GW Standard concept deck based around creatures with power greater than average for their CMC. (Ie. 1CMC = 2 power, 2CMC = 3 power, 3CMC = 4 power.)

The deck: Bigger is better

On top of the theme, I threw in a few utility cards of slightly higher cost, but slightly lower (initial) power. These include Trostani, Selesnya's Voice , and Archangel of Thune , and one Collective Blessing .

I love how it play-tests, but it was fairly quickly thrown together, so I'm looking for suggestions on possible utility cards. - Not really looking at changing the 1-3 drops, but if you think I've overlooked something, feel free to mention it.

Thanks!

This is actually the whole point of most RDW and Modern Zoo decks. The creatures you describe are usually referred to as being "above the curve". Good, past creatures include Stormblood Berserker , Vexing Devil , Loam Lion , Wild Nacatl , and Loam Lion to name a few. This archetype in modern is usually known as Zoo but that deck has been changing a lot lately.

Have you considered Experiment One for your deck? Yes he enters on curve but as soon as you go to attack with him he will usually always be a 2/2 or 3/3.

Experiment One may be a better option than the Soldier of the Pantheon I am currently running... (making the Soldier a good sideboard option.)

Experiment One will be at least a 2/2 by the time it attacks... and would have a much better survivability rate than the Soldier in no time.

I've never been a big fan of Experiment One , as it's regenerate ability if fairly useless for combat scenarios (ie. If it's a 3/3 and is blocked by a 3/3... you regen, and it becomes a 1/1 before combat damage, meaning you don't kill the opposing creature. And if you don't regen, it's simply a trade.)

In this deck type, however it's looking better I'll have to test it out.

Thanks!
