Looking for help with Planeswalker Deck

Deck Help forum

So I created a deck (Jund Planeswalkers) today with some planeswalkers I had laying around. I've always wanted to do something like this, but now that I have, I've found that it's somewhat lacking. If anyone has any suggestions on how to make it more diverse/better without removing any of the planeswalkers themselves, I would be happy to hear your insight :)

Thanks!

Just because a card has the Defender "inability" does not mean it is a good defender. Gatecreeper Vine in particular is going to chump block most things. My immediate thoughts when you said you have problems with weenie decks were Sphere of Safety , Detention Sphere and Kraken Hatchling but your colours do not allow this. Planeswalkers generally work best in concert with control strategies and mid-range creature decks as in both cases they can be protected easily.

As someone has already pointed out Domri Rade is best suited to a support role in a creature heavy deck. His abilities are almost completely useless in yours. His -1 will merely let you kill 1/1s and only if Trestle Troll is out and his ultimate will basically do nothing.

Only Tibalt and Garruk have "ultimates" that have any chance of winning you the game - the rest merely support creature or control-based strategies.

Your update on the deck kinda gave me the impression that you may have an incorrect definition of the defender keyword. What it means is "Creatures with Defender can not attack or block" which is almost always a bad thing. I run a deck that is essentially Defender tribal (i.e. it includes cards that boost creatures with Defender) but it's still not all that great and uses a lot of non-standard cards.

Here is a list of cards with toughness higher than 3 but power lower than 3 (and therefore probably a good blocker) from standard in your colours sorted by community rating : http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Search/Default.aspx?output=spoiler&method=visual&sort=rating-&action=advanced&format=+[%22Standard%22]&power=+%3C[3]&tough=+%3E[3]&color=+![U]+![W]

As you can see there really are not many as the Jund colours, especially red, tend to be quite agressive. Still there might be a few here that would be better than what you are currently running

Hope it helps!

this is a 5-color planeswalker EDH deck: Justice League: Unlimited

and this is the same 5-color planeswalker deck in a 60-card format: 1 vs 15. That's Fair

Both very aggro and quite consistent. Out of all the games I have ever played with them I have only lost 2.

Jund holds green which my decks both have a lot of. see if you get any ideas. Best of luck man, I love planeswalkers (:

zig13 I'm fairly certain I know whay the defender keyword means. I'm not sure if your description is a typo, but I know for a fact that defenders can block. I assume when you said I didn't know what it means you are referring to when I said I "swung in with everything," but you must have overlooked the fact that I had just used Tibalt, the Fiend-Blooded 's -6 to take control of my opponents creatures and was using his own creatures againzt him. Obviously I wasn't swinging with the defenders.

The reason I tossed Gatecreeper Vine in there is because I'm running 3 colors and don't want to end up needing a color and having no method of getting it to my hand. Afterwafd I'd just use him to consistently block 1/1s or save him for a large creature without trample.

You are however spot on with the rest of your response. I might splice either white or blue or both to increase my options. I will have to give it sone thought. Thanks for all your input!

Dreno33 thank you for the reference material, ill have a look at those decks when I get the chance!
