Sliver decks can be pretty brutal, especially in casual "kitchen table" environments.

There are a lot of different decks types that could be pretty good against slivers, though. The strategy of slivers lends itself to over-extending. The sliver player wants to get as many different slivers out onto the battlefield as possible so they all have different abilities. Board Wipers are a good idea.

Another thing you can do is actually play with the smaller cheapest slivers yourself. Whatever abilities he gives his own slivers will be given to yours too, in most cases, because of the way sliver cards are written. If your threats are cheaper and faster, and all his answers are in the form of a sliver, many of them will be bad for him.

Also, read as many sliver cards as you can. Some of the abilities granted by slivers are not good all of the time, like Shroud granted by Crystalline Sliver

There are always lots of options.

*push cards off and storm away

*don't push cards off or storm away but do something else anyway

*explore other game formats

*keep trying to beat the sliver deck but have a limit to how much time/effort your will put into that and have fun even if it doesn't go your way (board clearing just might work if you have the money for the cards)

*ask your bf what other decks he has - is he just a one-deck-man?

*keep trying to beat the sliver deck and make it your number one goal and priority at any expense ... sell everything else you value to buy the cards you need ... no amount of time is too much to spend ... if you fail ... well - it's all or nothing :-p (I'm kidding ... don't do that)
