Loss trigger

Hi, this is a question about a bit stranger stack mechanics.

Nine Lives and Lithoform Engine . If I remove my Nine Lives and copy it with the engine, does my opponents copy trigger first or is it draw ?

Nine Lives does not target anything. When it's trigger goes on the stack when you remove it, copying the trigger with your Lithoform Engine creates an exact copy of the trigger. Neither the first trigger or the copy of the trigger target anything. So you won't get an option to pick a new target when either of them resolves.

What this means is you will resolve two instances of "When Nine Lives leaves the battlefield, you lose the game."

They will resolve last in, first out so the copy you create with Lithoform Engine will make you lose the game and you won't even be around to lose to the original trigger when it resolves. (Since it's one of your effects/triggers it will actually be removed from the stack when you lose the game and will not actually resolve at all.)

In the future, this seems like the sort if thing that could go in the "Rules Q&A" section at the top of the page. Thanks!

Okay, thank you. I thought the "You" part was a target.

Nah, things have to explicitly say target to be targeting. That's one reason things like Leyline of Sanctity are bad in EDH -- you're more likely to see cards that say 'each opponent'.
