no one can make you a better magic player, yes we can give you tips and so on but only you can make yourself a better magic player.

here are some of tips that might help,

Play a lot at FNM and see what other people are running, don't be afraid to try out new ideas that may not work AT ALL :p talk to other Magic player (which is what your doing here) partner up with someone to make a deck,play in a local tournament and get a feel for how it plays. and work on your own personal strategy for your decks, if you can play your decks as smooth as you can, then you will have a better chance of winning.

I agree with the person above me in that only you can make yourself a better player. However if you are looking for a tip, i found that talking with my local DCI judge helped me to understand the game a great deal more, and as a result helped me to make smarter play decisions.
