Hi guys,a few weeks ago I started to play Magic the Gathering and bought the m14 event deck. The deck on itself is really cool for an prebuilt deck but it can't really compete with the decks my mates are playin so I want to make my deck better. There are just 2 problems: My Budget (not very high) and the rotation (I want it to be rotation proof). What I understood, when I was looking through the cards, is that the deck can be build into an Blitz Aggro or an Midrange deck. With the inspiration of some of the decklists here, I threw some Lists together (Blitz: http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/m14-event-deck-spiced-up/ Midrange:http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/m14-event-deck-spiced-up-2/ Raiders: http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/rubblebelt-battalion-aggro/ ) but like I've said, I just started to play the game and my deckbuilding-skills are maybee not the best so I ask you: Which list is the better one or is there another superior style of pimping the deck to it's maximum for a few bucks?Strategies should be clear, if not here the short versions: Blitz: Many OneDrops for fast swarming, objective is to attack the opponent to drop his life as fast as possible. Midrange: It's an aggro too but with some Ramp Cards and big Creatures (in that case the Savageborn Hydra) to attack the opponent for big damages. The 3rd one is an midranged deck too but with the Raiders as main Damage source and some Batallion Cards (if many creatures attack, the Raiders will grow faster, so why no Batallion?) to make the Deck an kind of Snowballing force.I hope, u have some suggestions for me and apologize for my imperfect english

People will be more inclined to view your links if you make it easy for them:

Users can't edit posts, unfortunately.

I'm not really a Standard (or 60-card, for that matter) player, so I'm not highly qualified to give you feedback on the decklists themselves. I can tell you RG will be a deck after rotation, but it will also play some expensive cards (especially Domri Rade and Xenagos, The Reveler ). You don't need those cards, but the design challenge will be to make up for what they can add to a deck.

personally, I think that running a G/R midrange deck might be the best way for you to go. There are plenty of cheaper cards you can throw together to make at least a somewhat more "viable" standard deck for cheap. I definitely like Savageborn Hydra , especially if you play cards like Ghor-Clan Rampager and Ogre Battledriver . Something I felt works very well besides just running the mystics to mana ramp is Zhur-Taa Druid . Not only is he ramping for you, but he's also dealing damage while he does it. It's a good card to go from 2 mana to 4 since you aren't planning on playing money cards like Domri Rade . Plus if your running Midrange and not running Domri Rade or other non-creature spells, you can easily run Ruric Thar, the Unbowed , and he's only about $1.
