Hi,

I have a blue/black modern mill deck (Cult of the Mill Wights) which seems to struggle against Elixir of Immortality .

Some possible solutions include using my own Elixir of Immortality or using:

Opinions and advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Remember the elixir doesn't go into the grave, you take it from play and shuffle it back with your grave into your library. So 2-3 of the cards you mentioned would be useless against it. You could use Pithing Needle , don't wait for him to put the Elixir of Immortality out, just ban it as soon as you find a needle.

Grimwolf79 cards like Surgical Extraction could and would hit Elixir of Immortality if he milled at least one from the opponents library before hand. I would go with Extirpate because Split Second is such a good bonus compared with being able to cast for free IMO that and Memoricide would be good to hit it before hand, otherwise Pithing Needle would stop it cold too like what was mentioned above.

I was thinking worst case scenario DukeNicky, but thanks for the clarification.

I usually mill at least one Elixir of Immortality so that shouldn't be a problem. but you are right in terms of 'worst case'. I'm thinking of replacing Psychic Strike with Memoricide . Otherwise I'm not really sure how to include it since I also need to increase Mind Funeral to 4x eventually.

Thanks for your advice guys :)

To beat the damned Elixir of Immortality and other threats against mill like Emrakul, the Aeons Torn or Progenitus I strongly encourage you to use in sideboard a couple of Trickbind to keep them quiet in his or her graveyard =)
