I want to buy Eggs but I don't want to spend $120 on the 2x misty rainforest]] and 2x Scalding Tarn .

How important are those fetches to the deck in general? Are they mandatory? Can I get away with not running them?

Eggs-Cellent is my current deck list.

The fetches are actually pretty important to the deck because you sac the lands, bring them back with your Second Sunrise 's and card:Faith's Reward's and that way, you filter your deck by pulling out all of the lands, giving you a better chance of drawing into the combo

But I can also use Ghost Quarter s in the same way.

Ghost Quarter can't fetch shocklands, which the fetches can. Your not running that many shocks, so it's irrelevant

Correct. Cifka's deck only ran one shockland. The fetchlands don't seem VITAL to me.

They are not vital, but they are helpful. You can probably get away with not running them. If your worried about not getting your one shock, just cut it for either a Plains or island, not a huge deal.

I'm fine with the one shock, if I draw into it I can play it but all of the eggs produce "of any color" so I don't really need to worry about fixing.

If you can get them, you absolutely should. But, if you can't, it isn't too big an issue (may be a bit harder to thin your library).

the fetches arent vital, just helpful. they do add another layer of complexity though because you take damage with each use, it makes it easier for your opponent to kill you. and thinning your library is not an issue with eggs, because as long as you have a lotus bloom coming into play, and preferably a silence in hand, the game is yours. your eggs will thin out your deck for you. and depending on what you use as your win-condition is then you don't need to thin your deck. I use Banefire in mine so all i need is a few Second Sunrise or card:Faith's Reward to recur the Lotus Bloom s and its all good.

jan2692wal makes an eggcellent (:P) point, the fetchlands can be detrimental/more complex at times. I think all in all, it's fine without. Have you considered Bitter Ordeal to win? It's quite funny, compared to some of the other options.

I think Pyrite Spellbomb or Exsanguinate as my two primary wincons just because I would have to pass turn for a Bitter Ordeal win.

Mirb I love you. Its going into my sideboard right now lol. Exsanguinate is also good because it doesnt target, so it gets past Leyline of Sanctity , and cause some silliness in multiplayer games.

If you want more suggestions check out my decklist, Fried or Fertilized?
