Modern Possibility Storm Deck

Deck Help forum

So I recently discovered the card Possibility Storm , and I instantly wanted to make a deck entirely focused on using it and other various cards to make your opponent(s) extremely upset and unhappy with their lives. I currently have an extortion deck that makes more enemies than friends (especially in free for all games with "friends"). So, in an attempt to be more annoying, I present...The Storm Maker!! (Name pending)

Creatures: 12

4x Fog Bank

3x Invisible Stalker

4x Myr Mindservant

1x Progenitus (or any other massive creature; Emrakul, the Aeons Torn , etc.)

Artifacts: 6

4x Crystal Ball

1x Planar Portal

1x Worldslayer

Spells: 12

1x Warp World

1x Thieves' Auction

1x Worldpurge

1x Molten Psyche

2x Minds Aglow

2x Ponder

2x See Beyond

2x Inaction Injunction

Enchantments: 10

4x Possibility Storm

2x Eye of the Storm

2x Widespread Panic

2x Telepathy

Lands: 20

4x Tolaria West

8x Island

8x Mountain

So theres the list. The entire strategy is just getting out possibility storm(s), then casting cheap spells for possibly bigger ones. Or, if not big, other helpful small spells. Most of the more expensive sorceries are purely for annoyance and disruption of gameplay, while the enchantments make things more hectic in general. For win conditions, the main one is getting the heavy hitter out. Although hitting them constantly with Invisible Stalker might be fun too, he's mainly there for the occasional Worldslayer strike. Another combo is using Widespread Panic with Myr Mindservant ; shuffle so you can put something back onto your library so its a guarantee pull from Possibility Storm , while annoying tutoring opponents. My main concerns are survivability, mana, and Planar Portal 's usefulness...So, comments, criticism, etc? All are appreciated!

Thanks!

I don't think Ponder is modern legal..

  • Well for starters, 20 lands is much too few. The entire deck functions around Possibility Storm and 20 lands has less than a 30% chance of hitting 5 mana on time.

  • Commander cards are not legal in Modern, so no Minds Aglow and Widespread Panic . And Ponder is banned in Modern.

  • Try and focus the deck a little more. Instead of running a pile of cards, find 1 or two win conditions to hit off Possibility Storm and then cards to support that clear plan. A combo like Curse of Exhaustion has a much more committed idea on how it beats your opponent, rather than just being a bunch of random expensive spell.

  • You're also going to want better digging. The more cantrips you have the more you can filter through your deck and find what you need, but it's key for them to be cantrips that replace themselves. Serum Visions , Peek , Gitaxian Probe , Sleight of Hand are a lot better at moving through the deck because they don't use up a card like Crystal Ball , Telepathy , etc.

  • Fog Bank is pretty bad in a format where the number 1 spell that's played is Lightning Bolt . Board clears would be a much better option for keeping you alive until you can combo off.

yeah Ponder is illegal in modern, though you could claim this deck to be purely casual and that would work.

In fact Minds Aglow is also only legal in legacy...

as for the deck, to really make it annoying run 4 Rule of Law and have your deck win with a land or discarding a big creature and an Unburial Rites
