Mono Black Control

So I really want to try mono black control, but in an Innistrad and onward environment. I think the only Scar card is Surgical Extraction . I'm using Shimian Specter , but they seem very vulnerable to removal.

Also I'm using Gravecrawler and Veilborn Ghoul because I can get them back from the graveyard pretty reliably. I could not think of a better way to get card advantage besides a late game Griselbrand or Disciple of Bolas .

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
